Reliance Insurance honoured with industry accolades

It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone and with that, we find ourselves celebrating another anniversary as Reliance Insurance turns 46 this December.

We are honoured to once again celebrate this milestone with the extended Reliance family. A sincere thank you to our clients for your ongoing support, to our staff for your commitment, and to our insurance partners and service providers for the relationships that helped us to continue delivering real value in 2025.

We are grateful for every partnership that has contributed to our journey over the past 46 years and that continues to be such a vital part of the Reliance story.

We were delighted that our efforts were recognised this year, and that Reliance Insurance was awarded a variety of industry accolades. These awards bear testament to our approach as a credible, trustworthy insurance broker, as we continue to uphold the legacy of our founder and father, the late Abdulhay Mohamed Mayet.

We received two notable personal awards this year as well. In the first, Somayya Abdulhay Mayet was awarded an Honourary Life Membership by the Insurance Institute of Gauteng (IIG) in acknowledgement of more than 30 years of service to the insurance industry.

In bestowing the award, the Institute said that Somayya's expertise, unwavering commitment, and steady leadership had strengthened both the IIG and the broader industry in meaningful, lasting ways.

"This recognition reflects decades of dedicated work and a clear commitment to professional excellence," the Institute said.

In addition, Fatima Abdulhay Seedat also received an Honourary Life Membership from the IIG, recognising her 35 years of service to the insurance industry.

In Fatima's own words, this milestone is "a reminder of the journey, the challenges embraced, and the growth achieved" over the past three and a half decades.

Fatima's leadership has always been rooted in purpose, clarity and a genuine commitment to excellence, and this award acknowledges that. She continues to inspire her peers through the way in which she leads - with intention, courage, and a deep belief in making a meaningful impact.

This industry recognition was undoubtedly the cherry on top of a fantastic year for Reliance Insurance, and primes us well for another successful year in 2026.
